Jamaican Hibiscus Drink

70 g " Hibiscus Sugar Mix " from COOK and GRILL
150 g fresh ginger
5 cloves, whole
5 allspice, whole
1.5 liters of water


Bring the water to a boil on the stove, add the hibiscus sugar and simmer for 8 minutes. Mash the allspice and add the remaining ingredients.

Take it from the stove and let it cool off. Place in an airtight container in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours (up to 3 days).

Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to squeeze out as much of the liquid as possible. If necessary, strain again until there are no more ginger residues.

Refrigerate until ready to drink.

TIP: I personally like the drink with crushed ice and 5 cl gin (also with a good rum).
